Message from Risa Miller, JFGC President and Sue Worrel, JFGC CEO

Like Jewish communities across the globe, our greater Charlotte community is reeling from the shock and pain of the attacks on Israel. Our hearts ache for those who were killed and injured, the kidnapped hostages desperate to return home, and the collective pain of Israel and the Jewish people.

Sadly, we know that more difficult days lie ahead for us. The war in Israel will test our resolve and result in new sources of pain and anguish. In these times of uncertainty and anxiety, the Federation provides the stability and steadiness we crave. You can count on Federation to offer support to our community during this challenging time, to meet the urgent and growing needs in Israel, and provide opportunities to be a part of something bigger than anything we could do on our own.

As Shabbat approaches, we take comfort in community and draw strength from one another. We do not know what the days and weeks ahead will bring, but we do know that with you by our side, we’ll continue to provide urgently needed relief to Israel and all of her people.

Risa & Sue

Israel Emergency Campaign: Operation Swords of Iron

Israel is facing a crisis on a scale never before seen – and in times of crisis, we stand together. Now more than ever, Israel needs you.

Jewish Federations across North America are working together to collectively raise $500 million to respond to the urgent humanitarian needs in Israel as well as the longer-term rebuilding and rehabilitation needs in the months and years ahead. Here in Charlotte, we have launched an Israel Emergency Campaign to raise $2.5 million toward the collective goal. These numbers are unprecedented in the long history of the Federation system and we are called to be a part of this historic moment.

Your donation to the Israel Emergency Campaign will have double the impact thanks to a $500,000 matching gift from Howard & Julie Levine and Lori & Eric Sklut!

100% of your donation will go toward supporting victims of terror and addressing the unprecedented levels of trauma caused by the horrific attacks in Israel.
