Jewish  Federation of Greater Charlotte – Chief Executive Officer (Posted 4/11/2024)

The leadership of JFGC seeks a CEO with successful executive management and relationship–driven development experience who appreciates Southern Jewish life. The CEO reports to the chair of the board and is accountable to the Board of Directors and Executive Committee. The CEO also plays a significant role partnering and engaging with agency partners both on and off the Park. The Federation currently manages 24 professional staff (full and part-time) including a senior management team of 3 who report directly to the CEO. The CEO will continue the healthy, caring, and empowering culture of the professional team.

Successful candidates possess dedication and demonstrated experience in 4 areas: Convening: bringing diverse aspects of the community together around areas and issues of common concern; Fundraising: growing annual and special campaigns to meet the current and anticipated future needs of an evolving community through major gift solicitation and donor stewardship; Outreach: expanding the donor-base and enhancing communal efforts beyond the Shalom Park area; and Community Relations: representing the Jewish community in civic life as well as developing strong relationships and partnerships throughout greater Charlotte.

The CEO will lead the Federation and play a central role as the community looks forward into its next phase of strategic growth. The Federation strategic planning process will identify significant next steps for the CEO as well as funding needs for the Federation and the community. Attuned to donor interests and concerns, community needs, the Charlotte landscape, emerging trends influencing Jewish life, and Israel/world events, the CEO will engage/re-engage donors, key stakeholders and newcomers.

Queens University of Charlotte — Director of Hillel and Jewish Life (Posted 3/26/2024)

Job Description Summary: Queens University is seeking an engaging and dynamic leader who has a passion for building Jewish community to become our Director of Hillel/Jewish Life at Queens. Charlotte is one of the fastest growing cities in our country and we aspire to mirror that growth in our Jewish Life and interfaith programs at Queens. Our Director of Hillel/Jewish Life will have oversight and leadership of our Jewish Life program on campus. We seek a leader with the skills to connect, engage, motivate, and inspire a diverse Jewish population; to collaborate with admissions to actively participate in Jewish student recruiting (including modest travel to selected target communities); develop key strategic relationships in the community and on campus, and support the development of financial resources to advance the mission of Hillel in inspiring Jewish students to make an enduring commitment to Jewish life. The Director of Hillel/Jewish Life will work within the Queens University Belk Chapel as part of Spiritual Life Team supporting and developing interfaith bridges and will work with the Diversity Inclusion and Community Engagement Department, the Student Life Division and the Stan Greenspon Holocaust and Social Justice Education Center to support Queens’ commitment to welcoming all people and nurturing relationships among people of different religious word views. This person will challenge and nurture students, faculty, and staff to deepen their faith as well as their commitment to seeking justice in our word.

The Director of Hillel/Jewish Life reports directly to the University Chaplain. The Campus Rabbi will provide support as an advisor on religious programming and on bridge building with the regional Jewish community.This position is exempt from provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is not eligible to earn overtime pay or compensatory time off for additional hours worked. Temple Kol Ami Administrator (Posted 3/4/2024)

Under the direction of the Temple Kol Ami board of directors, this part-time position serves many important roles within the Temple Kol Ami community to help us achieve our programming goals. The individual in this role will exercise independent judgment and discretion on important items, including the planning and execution of diverse Temple Kol Ami events. This individual will resourcefully problem-solve, be a welcoming and warm presence for our temple members and larger community, and ensure a positive and welcoming experience for all. 

Time Commitment: On average, we expect this individual to devote around 10 hours per week during the temple year (August to May) and about half that time over the summer months.  The specific time commitment can vary week-to-week and month-to-month depending on the programming and needs of the temple.

Financial Compensation: The Temple Admnistrator will be an independeint contractor. The contracted pay rate will be in the range of $10k to $12k per year, commensurate with experience.
